RECOVERY. PATRICK REEVELL ABC NEWS, LONDON. THE FALLS MIGHTY COMEBACK ON THE COURT IN BROOKLYN FALLS SHORT AFTER THE GAME WENT INTO OVERTIME AGAINST NORTHWESTERN IN ROUND ONE OF THE NCAA TOURNAMENT. THE COMEBACK JUST WAS NOT ENOUGH. YEAH, THE TEAM STRUGGLED TO MAINTAIN POSSESSION OF THE BALL. 21 TURNOVERS IN THAT GAME. YEAH THAT’S RIGHT TAYLOR A MUCH DIFFERENT ENDING THIS YEAR AS OPPOSED TO LAST YEAR WHEN THE TEAM LOST IN THE FINAL FOUR. BUT NICK BOYD, ONE OF THE VOCAL LEADERS ON THIS TEAM, TELLS ME THAT HE FEELS LIKE THIS YEAR’S LOSS WAS ACTUALLY WORSE THAN LAST YEAR’S LOSS. BOYD SAYS THE FACT THAT THERE ARE THREE SENIORS ON THIS YEAR’S TEAM, AS OPPOSED TO ONE ON LAST YEAR’S TEAM, JUST MAKES THIS LOSS HURT THAT MUCH MORE. BUT WHAT THE FOR LACK OF EFFORT FOR COMING BACK IN THE SECOND HALF TO TAKE THE LEAD WITH LESS THAN A MINUTE LEFT TO GO, NORTHWESTERN THEN TIED THE GAME. JANELLE DAVIS HAD A CHANCE TO WIN IT IN REGULATION, TOLD ME HE WAS GOING TO TRY TO DRAW A FOUL, BUT THINGS JUST DID NOT WORK OUT. MEANWHILE, JALEN GAFFNEY, ONE OF THE THREE SENIORS ON THIS YEAR’S TEAM, SAYS HE’S FOREVER GRATEFUL TO FOR AFTER HE TRANSFERRED OVER FROM UCONN A FEW YEARS AGO. HE WAS EMOTIONAL AFTER THE GAME. FAMILY REALLY? UH, I FOUND A HOME COMING TO FLORIDA ATLANTIC. I FOUND PEOPLE I CAN CALL ON ANY SINGLE DAY. UM, IT’S A BROTHERHOOD. SO I’M GRATEFUL FOR THAT.
