CHARLOTTE — Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was among the players who did not participate in Wednesday’s practice because of a right thumb issue.
Dalton was on the sidelines during the portion of practice open to the media after his traffic accident on Tuesday.
Also not participating Wednesday were cornerback Dane Jackson (hamstring), wide receiver Diontae Johnson (rib/not injury-related/rest), defensive end A’Shawn Robinson (knee), safety Nick Scott (hamstring), and safety Sam Franklin Jr. (not injury-related/personal/foot).
A larger group of players were listed as limited, including running back Jonathon Brooks (knee), linebacker Claudin Cherelus (hamstring), safety Jordan Fuller (hamstring), linebacker Josey Jewell (hamstring/groin), right tackle Taylor Moton (elbow), tackle Yosh Nijman (knee), linebacker Jon Rhattigan (knee), tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders (groin/wrist), wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring), tight end Tommy Tremble (back), outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum (quadriceps), and safety Jammie Robinson (knee).
Thielen, Fuller, and Wonnum began their 21-day practice windows Wednesday.
Outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (shoulder, defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy (ankle), and Raheem Blackshear (shoulder) were listed as full participants.
