FBI offering $5,000 reward for information on Seth Altman

MEMPHIS, Texas (KFDA) – The FBI Dallas Field Office is offering a $5,000 reward for any information regarding 33-year-old Seth Altman, who is accused of shooting Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant late Thursday night.

Officials say Chief Plant and another officer were serving an arrest warrant for burglary of a habitation when the suspect shot Chief Plant multiple times. Altman then ran away from the area.

Chief Plant was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital where officials say he is stable.

This reward from the FBI Dallas Field Office is in addition to the $10,000 reward that was part of an announcement from Governor Greg Abbott on Friday.

Altman is facing a charge of attempted capital murder of a peace officer.

Tips can be made by calling the Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-8477 or 1-800-CALL-FBI. Tips can also be made online here and here.

Altman is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach him and call 9-1-1.
